Production & Facilities Manager
Be a part of the Management Team at the Blood Bank of the Redwoods. We are currently seeking a Production & Facilities Manager. Responsibilities include monitoring and evaluating product inventories, analyzing utilization patterns, determining supply needs, driving product production, and communicating inventory needs to management team.
The Production & Facilities manager works closely with hospital customers to ensure appropriate inventory levels are maintained and supplies are utilized appropriately as well as develops and maintains customer base and ensures sales goals are attained.
Develops and maintains quality assurance programs to ensure compliance with federal, state and corporate policies.
Also responsible for management of facilities operations at multiple locations, managing fleet of vehicles including mobile collection vehicles, working closely with external maintenance personnel to ensure maintenance and repairs are completed, manages safety and emergency preparedness/disaster planning programs.
Manages staff of approximately 15 people.
Must have a BA/BS and 5 yrs exp with progressive managerial responsibilities.

Laboratory Assistant
We are currently seeking a part-time Lab Assistant who will be a part of our ongoing effort to support the community blood needs by performing routine laboratory tasks related to processing whole blood and blood components. Duties include preparing different blood components from donations; processing platelets, plasma and red blood cells as needed for distribution; as well as performing related clerical duties. No license is required; training provided.Medical and/or science background is preferred. High school diploma or GED is required.
Hours are Sunday, Monday and Friday from 7:00am to 3:30 pm.

Alternate Coach Driver/Medical Assistant
The Alternate Coach Driver fills in for the primary Coach Driver as needed by packing supplies, loading and unloading the coach as well as shuttling staff to and from blood drives. Medical Assistant duties include performing donor histories and phlebotomy. Training is provided.
You must have a current Class B license to considered for this position and clean DMV is required.

Blood Bank of the Redwoods currently has part-time Medical Assistant positions available. Responsibilities include conducting donor eligibility screening and performing phlebotomies. Must be available to work variable schedules and weekends. Shifts include assignments at the Bethards Center and travel to blood drives throughout Sonoma, Lake and Mendocino counties. Spanish speaking is a plus.

Plans advertising and promotional communications schedules and placement, including print, special events, direct mail, etc. to fulfill aspects of the Donor Retention plan. Assists in writing SOP’s, Variance Reports, and training. Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing. Must be flexible in a changing work environment.

Recruits and schedules blood donors according to dept. goals. Assists dept. with call planning & scheduling and meets deadlines, & performs clerical duties. Fills in for other positions when necessary and prepares daily call lists. Donor follow up. Database management and report writing experience a plus. Attention to detail, ability to problem-solve, and troubleshoot. Lead person on shift, ability to field questions from staff.
AA from 2-year college or equivalent experience preferred.

Recruitment Assistant
This position will provide support for the administrative needs of the Dept Manager. Responsibilities include scheduling for blood drives as well as for coordination of the annual drive calendar. Acts as the in-house contact for drive accounts; provides coordination of materials, assignments, and other Account Coordinator support. Coordinates volunteer programs & Dept payroll. Assists in scheduling of Canteen and Registrar staff. Must have excellent phone communication skills, as well as written skills, and able to mutli-task.
Requires one-year certificate from college or technical school; or three to six months of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of both education & experience. Advance skill set in Office Suites (Word, Excel, etc) preferred.
Hours are usually Monday-Friday/days, but hours may need to be flexible as Dept needs vary.
